Classification of cooling water: the cold water flows through the production equipment (often called heat exchange equipment, such as heat exchanger, condenser and reactor) to cool it down, while the cold water temperature rises. The cooling water is divided into once through cooling water and circulating cooling water according to the system.
Definition of once through water system: in once through water system, the cooling water is discharged after being used only once by heat exchanger. Therefore, once through water is also called primary utilization water. Due to large water consumption, once through water system is not recommended in water rich areas.
The definition of circulating water system: in the circulating water system, the cooling water can be used repeatedly. The temperature of the water rises after passing through the heat exchanger. The water temperature is lowered by the cooling tower or other cooling equipment, and then the water is sent to the user by the pump. The water is repeatedly used.
Circulating cooling water system:
Closed circulating cooling water system: the cooling water is recycled and recycled continuously, so there is little water loss. The contents of various minerals and ions in the water generally do not change, and the water is cooled by other cooling media in another heat exchange equipment.
Open circulating cooling water system: the cooling water is recycled. The composition of circulating cooling water system: make-up water system, by-pass water treatment system, pipe network system and water cooling facilities.
The water quality characteristics of open circulating cooling water are as follows
There are four kinds of water loss of circulating cooling water: (1) evaporation loss; (2) wind blowing loss; (3) leakage loss; (4) sewage loss.
Natural water contains some amount of bicarbonate and free CO2. During the process of cooling tower spraying (equivalent to aeration), CO2 loss and O2 increase.
Water quality pollution of circulating cooling water of high-voltage electrostatic circulating water: impurities in the atmosphere enter the cooling system; oil leakage of fan of cooling tower and corrosion and peeling of tower body enter into cooling water; chemicals are added in cooling water treatment to produce precipitation; sticky dirt formed by microbial reproduction and secretion.
